As the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) concluded, Sinochem International has also completed all its tasks at the Expo, including the signing of contracts with a total value of USD 1.18 billion.
On the morning of November 6, Ning Gaoning, Chairman of Sinochem Group, visited the booths of Chi Mei Corp. and Dow Chemical, both exhibitors invited by the SBU of Chemicals, and discussed with participants. Liu Hongsheng, Vice President of SBU of Chemicals of Sinochem and General Manager of Sinochem International, together with other members of the senior management, paid a visit to four of our partners on the scene to learn about the cooperation progress and their demands.
This year, CIIE gathered over 3,600 exhibitors from 172 countries, regions and international organizations, and more than 400,000 buyers at home and abroad in a 300,000-m2 venue. The event was a fruitful success, as it helped businesses reach cooperation intentions worth a total of USD 57.83 billion.
At the Expo, Sinochem Group signed purchase agreements with partners from 17 countries and regions. The contract amount totaled over USD 11.3 billion. Among them, Sinochem Plastics, a subsidiary of Sinochem International, signed contracts worth approximately USD 1.18 billion, or RMB 8.148 billion, accounting for 10.44%. The products to be purchased include ABS, PC, polyurethane, and other high-performance materials that are in short supply in China, as well as scarce products such as fatty acids, jute, and cacao beans. The six partners with which Sinochem Plastics has entered into contracts are Dow (the US), Chi Mei Corp. (Taiwan, China), PT. Nubika Jaya Oleochemicals (Indonesia), Sucden (France), and Namfa Trade Int’l (Bangladesh).
Sinochem International’s holding company Halcyon Agri, as an exhibitor, reached contracts amounting to RMB 772 million with domestic leading rubber tire manufacturers, including Aeolus Tyre and Shaanxi Yanchang.
